The music of Enrique Rodriguez is quite unmistakeable, it has that special sound of his. His orchestra was versatile, able to play all kinds of music, not just tango, vals and milonga. For that reason, be aware when buying his CDs that they will often contain rancheras, paso dobles or fox trots. The two main singers of Rodriguez' orchestra are Roberto "Chato" Florez and especially Roberto Moreno, who is one of my absolute favourite singers. Words fail me - just listen to him.
Rodriguez' music is easy to dance to, with its clear beat and nicely predictable yet interesting rhythmic patterns, and at the same time offers enough "meat" even to more experienced dancers, allowing them to coax intricate rhythmic steps out of that rich tapestry of sound.
